100 Millionth MilestoneIn October, Swiss International Air Lines welcomed its 100 millionth passenger. In celebration of the important milestone, the history-making passenger was gifted with a complimentary flight for two people. True to its commitment to hospitality, SWISS officially made 100 million people feel at home. Record-Breaking MonthOctober was also a record-setting month for the airline. The airline carried more than 1.3 million passengers in October, the most transported in one month since the carrier’s inception. The October numbers were promising all around. In addition to the 4.5 percent increase in passengers, SWISS operated 3.9 percent more flights than in the same month of 2009. New RoutesSWISS has added 130 more weekly flights to its winter 2010–2011 timetable, offering flights to 72 destinations in 39 countries.
From Zürich, a new daily lunchtime flight to Stockholm, as well as a new flight per day to Valencia, will soon be available. Service to Bari was added in September as a codeshare with Helvetic Airways. Spain service is increasing, with two new daily flights between Geneva and Madrid and a third daily service between Geneva and Barcelona. SWISS will offer more flights to Asia, with added services to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangkok. Four SWISS Airbus A340-300s were recently outfitted with the new SWISS Business, offering the premium product to passengers on flights to Hong Kong.
