Since launching in 1985, Emirates has grown into one of the largest, most dynamic airlines in the world, transforming Dubai into a world-class hub for global air travel. One of the cornerstones of Emirates’ success is the constant drive to innovate their onboard features and amenities, not just in First and Business, but also in Economy Class. Some of the airline’s pioneering innovations include being the first to introduce personal seatback in-flight entertainment units and being the first airline to enable passengers to make authorized onboard mobile phone calls. Emirates is also a leader in developing flexible air routings that save fuel and reduce CO2 emissions. These advancements, as well as a host of other achievements, resulted in more than 400 international awards recognizing Emirates in nearly every category of aviation excellence.
